WHY I BUILT THIS

An old Pixel.
A better backup routine.

The original Google Pixel came with unlimited Google Photos backup in Original quality. I bought an old one to use as a dedicated upload server for my photo library.

Then came the routine: copy photos over, wait for Google Photos to finish, check the backup, and make room for the next batch. I thought, “There must be a better way to do this.” So I built this app to make that process easier to manage, with duplicate review and clearer choices along the way.

LESS GUESSWORK

A clear path through
your photo library.

Start with duplicate review on your computer,
or connect a Pixel for the backup workflow.

01

Choose your library

Scan a local photo folder. Saved results help you pick up where you left off.

02

Look a little closer

Compare originals at full size, inspect metadata, and choose which copies to keep.

03

Back up in batches

Copy a batch to your Pixel, allow Google Photos time to upload, then review before cleanup.

Review before cleanup

Copied is not the same as backed up. A matching count is a cross-check. Use individual checks when you need more evidence before deleting phone copies.

A FEW USEFUL DETAILS

Before you begin.

Does the website see my photos?

The website does not receive your photos. It records a random tab identifier and aggregate visits/downloads by country, device, browser, language and traffic source. It does not store IP addresses, full referral URLs, photo names or email addresses in analytics. Country detection is approximate. The hosting provider handles connection and sign-in data separately.

What happens when I remove duplicates?

Folder deletions go to the Windows Recycle Bin or macOS Trash. Apple Photos deletions go through Photos to Recently Deleted. Recovery depends on the photos remaining there. Merging JPEG files keeps a separate archive of originals. Review similar-image matches before acting.

Will an update erase my scan history?

Saved scans and settings are stored separately from the application. To update this beta, close the app and run the newer Windows EXE or Mac PKG installer. It uses the same installation folder and preserves your user data.

Is this made by Google?

No. This is an independent project by TopGun_Abo, developed with ChatGPT. Google Photos and Pixel are Google products. The current Windows interface and phone integration still need live testing on your setup.
