Set up FramePilot on Windows

Install the Windows 7.5.0 beta, choose your workflow and start with a small test.

Install the app

Use the Windows download button on the FramePilot homepage. Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, is required. Close any running copy of FramePilot, open the downloaded EXE installer and follow its steps. It installs into Program Files and includes Python; no separate Python setup is needed.

Open FramePilot from the Start menu or desktop shortcut. This beta still needs a complete installation and workflow test on a real Windows PC. If installation is blocked or fails, record the exact message and contact the developer using the links on the homepage.

Choose duplicate review — no phone needed

Choose Duplicate review when you open the app. Start with a small folder and keep a separate backup. Scan, compare suggested matches and inspect the full file paths in the action list before removing anything. Similar-looking photos are candidates, not proof of identical contents.

Folder removals use the Windows Recycle Bin. Undo can reverse review decisions, but recovery of removed files depends on those files still being in the bin. Open the copies you kept before emptying it.

Or choose Pixel backup

This workflow requires a compatible Pixel, a USB connection and the intended Google Photos account. Unlock the phone and approve the requested connection permissions. Choose a small first batch and keep the original files on your computer.

Copying files to the phone and uploading them to Google Photos are separate steps. Wait for the cloud upload and verify the backup before clearing phone copies. A matching photo count is a cross-check, not proof that every intended file is backed up.

Install a later update

Close FramePilot and run the newer Windows installer from the homepage. Saved scans and settings are stored separately from the application. Keep a separate backup of your photos.

In version 7.5.0, use Mode → Backup / Duplicates to switch without restarting. Finish or stop active work and review any pending phone batch first.
